We, the physicians and practitioners named below, stand in solidarity with the message delivered by our colleagues at the Anchorage Assembly meeting on September 14th. and preventive medical care. COVID-19, like many other viral illnesses, has no known legitimate cure, although tireless research and development continues. Currently, treatment consists of supportive care based on an expert understanding of topics such as immunology, molecular biology, physiology, and pharmacokinetics, to name a few. While making healthy lifestyle choices remains vital, the only globally validated and FDA approved method to reliably reduce the risk of serious illness, disability and death from COVID-19 is to to get vaccinated.

Each of us has dedicated our lives to ensuring the well-being of our community members, even those who would threaten us, laugh at us and treat us with contempt before we end up sick not only with COVID-19, but all kinds of illnesses. . In the midst of the depletion of resources leading to rationing of care, we implore all Alaskans to take into account the needs of our neighbors, children and especially the elderly by protecting them from unnecessary suffering. This is best accomplished by getting vaccinated if you are eligible. In addition, we ask that you continue to do the bare minimum: Wear a mask during your interactions, wash your hands, and take a free test for COVID-19 if you start to feel unwell.
