The inconclusive ending to David Baddiel’s article (“Why Don’t Jews Play Jews?” – David Baddiel in Conflict with Helen Mirren as Golda Meir, January 12) is inevitable, because the only way to ensure consistency is to return to the assumption that actors can act. Take the case of the gay-chic Uncle Monty of the late Richard Griffiths in Withnail and I. He came from a poor background and was married to a woman. To have him disqualified based on the latter but not the former seems ridiculously arbitrary.
Regarding “Face masks make people more attractive, study finds” (January 13), I can confirm that they do. At 83, they cover 80% of my wrinkles, leaving only the laugh lines.
How interesting. Three wealthy and privileged men – Prince Andrew, Boris Johnson and Novak Djokovic – finally realize that the rules actually apply to them. Who would have believed it ?
