‘The Flash’ finally ends production

At last, Flash has finally finished production, according to director Andy Muschietti. In a series of Instagram posts, Muschietti confirmed that Barry Allen’s (Ezra Miller) standalone superhero flick has indeed completed filming.

Flash has faced a series of production delays that have prevented the film from ending so far. Originally, Warner Bros. planned to release the DCEU movie in theaters directly after 2017 Justice League in February 2018. But the project ended up being passed between several writers and directors, to finally fall into the hands of Muschietti following his success with This and It: chapter two. Christina Hodgson (Birds of prey) wrote the screenplay. Now, years after the concept was conceived, Flash can officially go into post-production.

Check out Muschietti’s posts below:

“What an adventure. Thanks to the whole team and the cast of THE FLASH for giving your best every day,” Muschietti wrote in his caption. In his second post, he shared another behind-the-scenes image with a simple three-word description: “It’s a wrap.”

The new film is loosely based on the Breaking point DC comics, with Miller reprising his role as Barry Allen as he learns to travel through time using his super speed. The plot will also feature multiple versions of Batman, including Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne as well as Michael Keaton’s iteration of the Caped Crusader – the latter hasn’t appeared on screen for three decades.

At the DC FanDome last weekend, fans were treated to a new teaser for the next movie. With Muschietti’s update, we can be sure that the wait for Flash is almost finished. Flash is set to land in theaters on November 4, 2022.
