“The Crown” plays Dominic West’s son as Prince William

The crown slowly fights its way into the modern era, with its fourth season tackling Princess Diana’s early years (though not to everyone’s liking). But the show is moving inexorably forward, and the fifth season is set to jump into the ’90s – a particularly tumultuous time in the history of the Royal Family, to say the least. While we’ll have to wait for how creator Peter Morgan handles… well, all of that (although you can still check out his script for 2006 The Queen, starring Queen Elizabeth’s rehearsal actress Helen Mirren), we know who will play one of the younger key roles.
According to Variety, The crown has been reunited with her 13-year-old Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, after a massive nationwide search. But in the end, they just chose the son of one of her new big stars. That person is Senan West, whose father is Dominic West, better known as McNulty on Thread and who, on The crown, will assume the role of William’s father, Prince Charles. Diana, her mother, will be played by Tenet actress and famous extraordinarily tall person Elizabeth Debicki.
It should be a trying role for the young West. William was only 15 when his mother died in a car accident involving the paparazzi. (Her younger brother Prince Harry was only 13). But when it does, not only will it tackle arguably the most shocking thing that has happened in the history of the Royal Family, but it will add to the glut of Princess Diana movies and shows, including Kristen Stewart’s new movie Spencer.
