Solos – DVDfever review
Solos is a 7-part series with individual monologues – or at least each starring an actor, the first being Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as Tom, who plays two arguing characters . Appearing as something to be expected in the near future, it could be Amazon’s version of Black Mirror.
Nothing is known until it starts, so I won’t go into too much detail other than the fact that Tom logged into a website and paid $ 30,000 to wait 6-8 weeks for a clone. from himself, and while talking on the phone to customer service, we learn that Tom’s purchase is a robot that “looks nothing like me” and is mean and sarcastic.
In addition, our human nature has a number of quotients. In Tom’s case, he has an “asshole quotient” of 7 (because he called his daughter’s friend a “dipshit”), anger is a 6, sarcasm is an 8, fear is a 9.
There is an important reason he bought this machine, however, which you will find out. However, the situation will force them to discuss Tom’s life at length, so that his new acquisition can learn all about him and what motivates him, figuratively speaking.
There is also a bit of product placement when Tom tells his clone that to play music he can do it through Alexa 😉
This opener – which lasts 24 minutes – has a few f words here, so keep that in mind if young viewers are looking to see what Falcon is right now. It’s definitely a fascinating watch, so I’ll be watching more of these episodes very soon.
Solos is somewhat similar to Apple TV + calls, except that in the flesh. Either way, this is another example of how to create decent entertainment in a lockdown situation.
Solos airs today on Amazon Prime Video, but is not yet available for pre-order on Blu-ray or DVD.
