Sasha Calle announced she will be playing Supergirl in the DC Extended Universe

Sasha calle was chosen as the DC Extended Universe version of the iconic hero Supergirl. Calle is a promising actress best known for her appearance in the hit soap opera The young and the restless in 2018 as conductor Lola Rosales, a role that earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Young Performer in a Drama Series. Calle will be the third actress to play Supergirl and the second to portray her in the film after Helen slater appeared as the titular character in the widely filmed film Super girl in 1984. In addition to being the third actress to portray Supergirl on screen after Melissa Benoist, Calle will be the first Latina actress to play the character.
Calle set to appear in upcoming 2021 DC Extended Universe movie Flash directed by Andy Muschietti and featuring Ezra Miller as the title character. Little has been revealed about the scale of Calle’s role in the film. However, it has nonetheless been confirmed that Clark Kent / Superman’s cousin (Henry cavill) will indeed appear in the film regardless of the size of his role. Supergirl is one of the many characters announced to appear in the film that fans are very excited to see, along with Batman, who would be played by the two. Ben affleck and Michael keaton in the movie.
Benoist, who currently plays Supergirl on TV, showed her support for Calle as a character on her Instagram page. “I can’t wait to see you as SG,” she wrote. “The world needs as many Supergirls as they can get.” Benoist herself will soon end her time as an iconic superhero after season six Super girl, which has been confirmed to be the final season of the popular show.
Calle will be considered Supergirl when Flash releases November 4, 2022.
