Nancy Meyers will return to directing with the next Netflix movie

Nancy Meyers will soon be back behind the camera
Highly acclaimed director, Nancy Meyerswill be back to directing with encore untitled To come up netflix picture.
When a female director creates friendly box office hits with almost every film she makes, “something has to give.” However, Nancy Meyers certainly knows that when it comes to pleasing men and women with funny romance movies, “it’s complicated.” However, she knows perfectly well “what women want”, and with the last film she made, that of 2015 Trainee, she also won over male moviegoers by starring the always fantastic Robert De Niro opposite Anne Hathaway. Many have wondered what she’ll be directing next (and when) and while details are being kept under wraps, it will actually be a Netflix movie.

In the year 2000, Meyers made What women Want when Mel Gibson was in his prime at the box office and Meyers got a great performance from Gibson and a cute turn from his co-star in the highly successful pic, Helen Hunt. A comedic gem, the film did quite well and earned a “B+” CinemaScore. In 2003, Nancy Meyers continued to do something must give which earned Diane Keaton a Best Actress Oscar nomination and the film beat out the Farrelly Brothers heavy male comedy comedy, stuck to you, at the box office. Meryl Streep, oddly enough, made an appearance in stuck to you and found himself in Meyers’ hilarious and energetic film, It is complicated, starting in 2009 where Streep starred against comics like Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin. Both something must give and It is complicated scored “A-” CinemaScores and earned over $100 million at the domestic box office.
2015 Trainee also received an “A-” CinemaScore but only made $75 million at the domestic box office. This may have been due to the film opening at the end of September, unlike when his other images were opened (they were all released around Christmas). Audiences loved the 2015 pic, but for some reason Meyers took some time off after production ended. However, Meyers did help her daughter Hallie Meyers Shyer, producing a cute Reese Witherspoon movie titled Back at home which was a bit of a slouch at the box office, grossing just $27 million.
Nancy Meyers has worked with Netflix before. Meyer did Father of the Bride Part 3ish in 2020, which ran for 26 short and sweet minutes. It brought together members of the popular father of the bride film series.
This new movie for Netflix that Meyers will direct will be written and directed by the talented filmmaker. It will feature an ensemble cast, but not much else is known at this time as to who will be in attendance or what it will be about, but judging by Meyers’ past films, it should be an audience delight that perfectly blends comic and dramatic ingredients.
