Helen Mirren’s unexpected observations of Victoria Beckham as she discusses pout
Dame Helen spoke of her personal relationship with the humble smile and made some interesting remarks about the notoriously stone-faced Victoria Beckham.
Dame Helen Mirren gave Victoria Beckham a somewhat backhanded compliment while explaining how she has grown to love her own smile.
The 76-year-old actress is considered by many to be an absolute pin-up who is famous for her enduring beauty and graceful aging process.
The artist formerly known as Posh Spice, however, is well known for having a stony facial expression that rarely causes a smile to crack.
While opening up to her own reluctance to embrace the humble smile, Dame Helen compared herself to Vicky, 47, saying her ‘runny’ pout cannot be replicated as it is still sucking her cheeks.
Dame Helen told the Daily Mail: “I don’t do Victoria Beckham – she always has the smoldering fire. I’m not that good at it anymore.
She continued, “I’ve always had fat cheeks – and I still do, so I’ve always sucked my cheeks.
“But you can’t suck your cheeks and smile at the same time, that’s absolutely impossible. So I guess I never smiled.
Helen has had reason to smile lately as she was greeted warmly by Harry Potter fans after serving as a gamemaster in the Hogwarts Houses Tournament – a four-part competition that sees fans of the franchise witch compete for a prize.
USA Today reports that the star said, “I’m always up for a bit of adventure. So, of course, it’s a wonderful topic and at a great time, the 20th anniversary (of Wizarding School, the Potter’s first film). “
“And the very fact that I’ve never been in any Harry Potter movies – much to my regret, I might add.
“It was a great way to be able to participate in all of the amazing Harry Potter phenomena that are.”
Victoria, however, has undoubtedly been left with a scowl of late as the Beckham brand has been discredited by her husband, David.
Fans turned on the couple once again after Dave, 46, continued to agree to multi-million dollar deals to endorse the controversial upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Many have been left furious that the sports icon is allegedly taking money from the country as she is guilty of numerous human rights violations and instances of inequality.
David’s decision to accept a £ 150million fee to be the tournament’s ambassador has led some to call his decision “unforgivable”.
In a column for the Mirror, Polly Hudson writes: “Qatar has a shameful human rights record, and the country’s mistreatment of migrant workers – that is, those who make the Cup. possible world – are incredibly distressing.
“Looks like when it comes to ethics, UNICEF Ambassador Beckham is happy to fold them too.”
The latest scandal comes just a year after Victoria was humiliated for accepting money on leave to pay her employees despite a reported fortune of £ 335million – before being forced into a humiliating U-turn in because of an extreme public reaction.
