This year’s winners will be chosen and announced by a nine-member jury, which includes Spike Lee, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Song Kang-Ho and Melanie Laurent.
The gongs will be handed out at the end of the festival on July 17, with films by Leos Carax, Wes Anderson, Sean Penn and Paul Verhoeven all in the running.
The outing comes after Helen was first seen on the set of her latest project Shazam! Fury of the gods.
Helen is expected to play Hespera and star alongside 40-year-old Zachary Levi in DC Comics’ superhero sequel.

Helen’s villain has had comic book fans scratching their heads because Hespera is not included in DC Comics canon.
According to Comicbook.com, Hepsera, which has been described as “a daughter of Atlas, is an original creation by screenwriter Henry Gayden.”
Gayden wrote the screenplay for the original 2019 film and reunited with director Sandberg for follow-up.
In addition to Helen, Lucy Liu also appears in the sequel, playing another villainous Kalypso, who is the sister of Helen’s character.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is slated for June 2, 2023.
