‘Dancing With the Stars’ pro Emma Slater mourns an ‘icon’
Actress Helen McCrory passed away last week, and the entertainment industry took a long time to mourn the star after her death. Professional “Dancing With the Stars” dancer Emma Slater wrote a touching tribute to the star.
Actor Damian Lewis, McCrory’s husband, announced the news of his death on Friday, April 16, 2021.
“I am heartbroken to report that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and powerful woman Helen McCrory passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from her friends and family. his family.” he wrote in the post on Twitter. “She died as she lived. Without fear. God, we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Now go, little one, in the air, and thank you.
Emma Slater wished McCrory’s friends and family love
After learning of the actress’ death, Slater took to Instagram to write an article about the woman, whom she considered to be an icon.
“I can’t help but post this,” she wrote next to a photo by McCrory. “I was deeply saddened to learn that the world has lost this soul today. Helen McCrory has been such an icon to many, she definitely was to me.
Slater added, “I’ve been a fan of her work for years and hear that outside of the stage and the screen, she was an extraordinary human. Wishing his family love and strength at this time. I just felt the urge to post this pic of her, I think it’s so powerful. TO TEAR APART.”
The stars paid tribute to McCrory
McCrory was best known for her work in the “Harry Potter” film series where she portrayed the character of Narcissa Malfoy, the mother of Draco Malfoy. Tom Felton has portrayed Draco Malfoy in the movies, and he posted an onscreen tribute to his mother after her death.
Felton shared a photo of the Malfoy family together on set, writing, “So sad to say goodbye so suddenly – I never took the opportunity to say it to her, but she has helped me so much to shape myself as a person – to l ‘screen and offscreen – She was always relentlessly herself – razor sharp mind – silver tongue – kind and warm – she didn’t suffer fools but had time for everyone – thanks for enlightening the way forward and to hold my hand when I needed it.
Jason Isaacs, who played McCrory’s on-screen husband in the “Harry Potter” franchise, also took the time to pay tribute to the late actress.
“Decades ago, Helen and I auditioned together for a movie,” Isaacs written on Instagram. “I came home and said to Emma ‘I think I just met the greatest actress I’ve ever seen.’ After years of watching her fascinate her audience, I don’t think that anymore… I know it.
He added, “Fortunately, I finally found out that she was also scabrously funny, shockingly mean and with a planet-sized empathetic heart. As consistently star-struck as I was in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies, being married onscreen and laughing with the great Helen McCrory will always be a highlight.
Isaacs said McCrory’s favorite achievement was his own family, and he sent his love their way.
