Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding Joins Beatson Virtual Fundraiser Event
To mark the book’s 25th anniversary, Scottish broadcaster Kaye Adams will interview Bridget Jones creator Helen Fielding for a special virtual fundraising event on Friday the 19th.e March from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Joining Kaye from her home in London, Helen Fielding will celebrate and look back on 25 years of her novel. Along with the cat and a Hollywood Gin raffle, you can grab your hairbrush if you fancy a Rod Stewart tribute song, Simply Rod providing the tunes.
Bridget Jones’ Diary was named as one of the ten novels that best defined the 20th century and life at the time. Kaye Adams said: “It’s been 25 years since we met Bridget Jones and it’s always a joy to revisit her world. In the wake of the Covid crisis, nothing rings louder than what Bridget said: “It is a universally recognized truth that when one part of your life starts to be good, another falls dramatically to pieces. I am thrilled to support Beatson Cancer Charity and know it will be an evening filled with fun, laughs and without a doubt a drink or two. Hope you can join us!

Tickets are priced at £ 15 and will support the charity with ongoing services to patients and their families throughout their cancer journey. The charity recently launched its new digital support sessions as part of our With you at Home initiative. Our therapy team offers a range of wellness, relaxation and mindfulness sessions via one-on-one or virtual appointments.
