The list of actors for Bat girl was recently revealed, and on it is none other than Michael Keaton. According to the Warner Bros. ‘ 2022 Preview press release, Keaton will be involved in the upcoming HBO Max movie – presumably as Batman.

Leslie Grace (In the heights) will play Batgirl, aka Barbara Gordon. She will be joined onscreen by JK Simmons, Brendan Fraser and Jacob Scipio. Now that we know that Keaton will also star in the project, we have to ask ourselves: is he reprising his role as Caped Crusader yet again? (And if not: how do you get Michael Keaton into a Bat girl movie and not make him play Batman?!?)

It would certainly make sense for Keaton to appear as Bruce Wayne in the Bat girl movie, given that he’s already signed on to play the role in another upcoming DC Comics film. Recently, he donned the black superhero costume again for Flash. JK Simmons also reprise his role as Commissioner Jim Gordon, the father of Barbara Gordon, who was last seen in Zack Snyder Justice League.

All that being said, that doesn’t mean Batman will necessarily steal the show in Bat girl. According to RBC, Grace said publicly, “Batman is out – he does a whole bunch of stuff – so I’m going to need some of my ladies to help me out on this next race, you know what I’m saying?”

Bat girl is slated to hit HBO Max in 2022.
