“We all feel alone in different ways,” says Morgan freeman in this new trailer for Solos. “By feeling alone, we are sort of all together.” It also seems perfect a thesis statement for Amazon Prime upcoming tv series as possible.

The show, of Hunters creator David Well, isn’t the stealth sequel to Solo, but that gives us two Anthony mackies with a heart to heart, as well as Dame Helen Mirren on a lonely space journey, LegionDan Stevens hugs Freeman, and more. See for yourself:

Lord. Anne Hathaway, Sleepy hollowNicole Beharie, Crazy Rich Asians‘ Constance Wu and Orange is the new blackUdo Azuba besides Mirren, Freeman, Stevens and Mackie? It’s not that star-studded is a galaxy of great actors, who come together – well, not exactly together, but technically still co-starring. Here’s the official synopsis, which echoes Freeman’s thoughtful statement:

“Solos is a dramatic and stimulating seven-part anthology series that explores the deep meaning of human connection, as explored through the prism of the individual. The solos will tell unique character-driven stories, each with a different perspective and time, that illustrate that even during our seemingly most isolated moments, in the most disparate circumstances, we are all connected through the human experience. .

Now, we have no idea if these stories will all be interconnected only thematically or in a more open way, although this trailer seems to involve the latter through a very impressive cut. But anyway, it feels like low-key, melancholy, and thoughtful science fiction, and that’s not a bad thing at all. It looks and feels less stressful Black mirror, and I am Absolutely down with that.

Solos will debut on Amazon Prime on May 21. Maybe you should watch it for yourself?
