9 movies to watch this weekend before leaving Netflix – Best Life

March is coming to an end, and the longer days and warmer weather have many of us yearning for spring activities. For Netflix subscribers, however, the end of the month also signals the departure of a long list of movies from the streaming service. There’s not enough time to watch all that’s leaving, so we’ve narrowed it down to that crop of movies you’ll want to catch before they’re gone. Read on to learn about the classic comedies, family favorites, and historical dramas that will no longer be on Netflix after April 1.

For lovers of graphic novels and historical fantasy, 300 literally packs a punch. Filmed with a distinct visual style, the stars of the film Gerard Butler as Spartan King Leonidas and Lena Headeyof game of thrones fame, like Queen Gorgo. During the Persian Wars, Leonidas leads 300 soldiers into battle against King Xerxes’ Persian army, which outnumbered the Spartans 1,000 to 1. The action-packed epic thrilled viewers when it hit theaters in 2007, so much so that a prequel, 300: Birth of an Empirecreated in 2014.

Want to laugh this weekend? Be sure to stream this star-studded 2012 romantic comedy starring Kevin Hart, Regina Halland Taraji P.Henson and based on the advice book of Steve Harvey, Think like a woman, act like a man. In this film, four women follow the book’s advice to get their men to stand in line. But when men understand, they plot ways to regain their power.

Gene Wilder stars as the enigmatic Willy Wonka in this classic 1971 film, in which five children are taken to visit a mysterious chocolate factory. Children and adults alike have enjoyed this musical spectacle for decades, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that it’s a bit terrifying at times.

Unfortunately, fans of the original Roald Dahl book are doubly unlucky this week, like the 2005 adaptation, Charlie and the chocolate factoryalso leaves the site in April.

There is a reason Caddyshack has stood the test of time. With its hilarious cast and quote-worthy lines, the film has become cult since its release in 1980. Chevy-Chase, Rodney Dangerfieldand Bill Murraythe plot follows Danny Noonan, played by Michael O’Keefeas he attempts to go from caddy to golf champion at an arrogant country club.

Put on your dancing shoes for a projection of Cadillac Recordsa musical drama set in 1950s Chicago. Adrian Brody leads the cast as Leonard of chessa real bar owner who became a label producer attracting big names like the singer Etta Jamesplayed by Beyonceand the “father of rock and roll”, chuck berryplayed by rapper Def. Mos. Highlighting the evolution of the musical style of black artists of the time, the film follows their trials and tribulations, while remaining “true to the music”, according to NPR.

A young couple (Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat) set up cameras to capture alleged supernatural activity in their home in this 2007 horror film. paranormal activity is not for the faint of heart, but it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Screenwriter and Director Oren Pelli uses a cinematic technique called found footage, where the work is presented as if the video and recordings had been discovered, often involving off-camera commentary from the characters.

In 1997, Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt won Best Actor and Best Actress Oscars, respectively, for their lead roles in this romantic comedy-drama. Melvin (Nicholson), a writer with obsessive-compulsive disorder, is as rude as it gets. When he finds himself interacting more with his neighbor (Greg Kinner) and a waitress (Hunt) at his local restaurant – who happens to be the only one serving him – he finds himself lightening up, in spite of himself.

Looking for a kid-friendly option for family movie night? bee-movie offers something for everyone, following the trials and tribulations of Barry B. Benson, a bee who decides to pursue the human race after learning that people eat honey and sell it for profit. jerry seinfeld adds his signature humor as the voice of Barry, while the Oscar-winning actor Renee Zellweger lends his voice to Barry’s human florist friend. Released in 2009, The hangover quickly became a must-have comedy, grossing over $465 million at the worldwide box office.
